Spider Medicine

Incy Wincy Spider,

Climbing up the spout.

Down came the Rain,

And washed the Spider out.

Out came the Sunshine

Which dried up all the Rain.

Then Incy Wincy Spider

Climbed up the spout again.

6th December 2010 - On My Narrowboat 'Waterwitch'   

I used to have a pet Tarantula.  

She was a Mexican Red-Kneed Tarantula and her name was Trixy, which was short for Matrixa!

The night before I had my first big past-life memory download of being a ‘Witch’ in the Witch trials in medieval Scotland, I had a strange experience with Trixy...

I had taken her out of her tank and sat down with her on my sofa in my narrowboat ‘Waterwitch’.

The fire was on, as it always was in December.  

It was cold outside, but warm and cosy inside my boat.

Trixy was a very gentle spider.  

She was cautious and careful in all her movements.  

She never rushed anywhere.

I put her on my lap, and slowly but surely, she climbed up my arm, onto my shoulder, up my dreadlocks, and onto the top of my head.

She decided that was where she wanted to stay, so I left her there, a Spider Crown upon my Crown!

Then, a strange thing started to happen…

I could feel weird energy movements start up inside my head.

It was a very odd feeling.

Now, I am very used to feeling strange sensations of energy in my body, after being an Energy Medicine Practitioner and Teacher for many years, but I had never felt anything like this.

It felt like things were unlocking and opening inside my brain.  

It also felt like there was an activation happening, a waking up, a coming to life of something that had been dormant for a long time.

I was acutely aware that the presence of Trixy sitting on top of my Crown Chakra was the catalyst for this strange experience, and I just allowed whatever she was doing to continue. 

I was intrigued as to what effect this Spider Medicine would have upon me, and my curiosity and trust in this shamanic gift of power invited my little red and black friend to simply do what she had been tasked to do.

This Spider Medicine continued for about fifteen or twenty minutes and then stopped.

Little did I know that she had just unlocked my abilities to remember and access other life-times that my Soul had experienced, as well as opening up my capacity to hear the Spirits of The Dead. 

She activated my psychic abilities to a whole new level.

Thank you Matrixa for gifting me with these Spider Senses, I will use them well.

2017 - Spider Love - Ariadne The Dream Catcher

I have a pet Spider who lives above my bed.

She is a free-range wild boat Spider and her name is Ariadne.

She likes to walk across me at least once a night as I lay in my bed in the dark, and she abseils down right in front of my face to say ‘hello’ when I’m reading my book.

Last night I could hear her rustling papers on the bedside shelf in the dark.

She has spun lots of web underneath the shelf above my head.

It catches the bad dreams.

Recently, she had babies, and they are all hanging out in the web underneath the shelf too.

Ever since I have lived on a boat (15 years now), I have always had a pet Spider that has lived above my head in bed. 

Over the years the Spiders have changed, although I did take one long-standing Spider with me, when I moved from my narrowboat ‘Waterwitch’ onto mine and Dan’s Dutch Barge ‘Cornelia Adriana’.

I have always called all of my bed Spiders ‘Ariadne’.

Ariadne has just walked over me, and I love her.

She keeps the monsters away as I sleep.

And the mosquitos !!
